My Approach
Hello :) I’m Lauren (she/her), a Registered Psychologist working with adults and youth 12+. I’m really glad you’re here.

If you find yourself caught in cycles of overthinking, over-planning, or being hard on yourself when things don’t go as expected; you’re not alone. When life feels overwhelming, it’s natural to try to create a sense of control. In many ways, it can feel like we’re protecting ourselves from uncertainty or pain. But sometimes, the very strategies that once helped us cope can begin to leave us feeling anxious, disconnected, exhausted, or far from the person we truly want to be.

In our work together, we’ll gently explore how your need for control shows up in your life—where it came from, how it once supported you, and how it may be holding you back now. From there, we’ll identify and integrate new ways of relating to yourself and the world—ways that invite connection, creativity, meaning, and authenticity.

At times, control also appears in how we relate to our bodies. Drawing from my background in professional ballet, Pilates, and somatic work, I bring a deep appreciation for the mind–body connection and support clients in prioritizing holistic health, balanced living, and embodied awareness.

As a therapist, I listen with care, sensitivity, and compassion. I offer honest, thoughtful reflections, and I aim for therapy to feel warm, collaborative, and engaging. I’m intentional about offering practical suggestions you can bring into your daily life, supporting meaningful and lasting change. My hope is that you feel supported, understood, and like we’re moving forward together—always with a shared sense of purpose and curiosity.

My approach often resonates with athletes, dancers, and others in high-performance environments. The drive to perfect, prove, and perform can be powerful—yet over time, depleting. I love helping clients discover more balanced, grounded, and self-compassionate ways to pursue their goals. I believe we often achieve more of what we truly want when we approach our sport or work with self-kindness and with our values at the centre.
