Narcissistic Abuse Recovery

Narcissistic Abuse can present in many different ways. Often feelings of confusion, powerlessness, and distress are common emotional states felt by the victims of narcissistic abuse. Narcissistic abuse typically involves emotional trauma through the frequent use of put-downs, criticisms, accusations, or threats. This can look like manipulation and mistreatment, the creation of a toxic environment through various avenues of harm, and exploitation through gas-lighting, sabotaging, self-centeredness, love-bombing, and lying.

Victims may suffer long-term effects from this abuse. Being abused by a narcissist is not always obvious— they tend to deflect their own feelings onto others in an effort to control and/or manipulate the victim.
